Thanks, friends. He's probably going to be fine, but I can't help worrying. Since he started feeling lousy this weekend, each update from my mom has been more bad news than good, so it's got me on edge. Hoping the IV antibiotics start working their miracle soon.
Thinking good thoughts for all those in Irma's path, too.
Aw, man, two of my work friends are leaving. Both are because they are going to better positions elsewhere, but still a bummer for me. Especially as I don't know how the hiring freeze will affect backfilling their positions. Small potatoes compared to the terraforming, etc., but still a drag.
Health~ma for your dad, Kate. Health stuff's scary at that age.
Much health-ma for your dad and calm-ma for you and your mom, Kate.
Volcano eruption?
Oh please, no. Mt. Baker is sleepy, but active. We're above tsunami level, and at the moment away from the fires, though I looked directly at the sun earlier and the sky is lemon yellow and grey. But Baker is in easy reach, and I prefer not, thanks.
H is in Charlotte, NC, with his mom and his brother, released this morning after cancer surgery. We're both apocalypse-adjacent, on opposite coasts.
~ma for your dad, Kate. Safe evac for your family, and your neighbors, Laura.
And harbor and safety for all fleeing or fighting the planet's fury right now.
May he be on the upswing, Kate.
On the parking garage stairs, got tangled in unraveling hem and tripped. Landed my bent knee on the edge of the step, so basically managed to whack the underside of the kneecap and what it rests on. No real swelling & feels only mildly weird at rest, but going up and down step, it ain't too thrilled. Hopefully didn't do too much damage.

It wasn't a vote, believe me.
