Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Took one day off, came in to 70 emails. Luckily, a good chunk of them were newsletters, meeting requests, notifications of no spam, etc. I'm down to 20 that need actual attention.

Our wings are not tired.

{{Liese}} It is, and I am so sorry.

So a CAT 5 hurricane with 175 mph winds is pointed at my house. DH, kids, GF, and GF's parents will evacuate to Otter Lake if it keeps going towards us. They are shuttering today.

Yikes, Laura! Good thoughts Florida-ward

Oh man, Laura! I hope everything turns out OK.

In stupid news, I've been panicking about a mistake I made at work for quite some time now, including on and off all weekend, and I finally sucked it up and asked the person who could really make it an issue, and she said it was OK! Not that big a deal! Thank goodness. I'm almost weepy with the relief.

Yay for starting the week with a bit of relief.

Hurricane is completely distracting me when I have a lot of work to do, and step-dad is going to move to rehab today. My Florida loved ones can and hopefully will evacuate, but I am really worried about the people in the islands. This storm is ridiculously strong.

This is the problem with these hurricanes -- hoping they don't hit my friends and family still usually means they are hitting someone else's! And of course Haiti is right in the path, as always.

I'm sorry about the hurricane worries, Laura. That's one of the things that worry me about living in the Keys or other Caribbean islands—they're so small and the weather can be so big.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Good luck to all in Irma's path! We did a little just-in-case stocking up yesterday.

Yes. Do not like.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

No more shoes.

Unless they're Fluevogs, in which case I may have a pair in my online cart.

Laura, much ~ma to all of you. I'm hoping Irma heads out to see and spares the islands and FL from any major damage. We're keeping an eye on it up here, because one of the models has/had it coming up the Chesapeake Bay and stalling right over Harrisburg. Do not like for any of us.

Jesse, I love/hate that. Whatever I did is a HUGE deal to me, but NSM for anyone else. Brain, get your act together, please.

I'm sorry, Liese. Not having a spouse anymore, regardless of the reason, is fucking tough. Just because it's the right thing doesn't mean it's easy.
