Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, they won't process my application for the new apartment without an offer letter.

On Tuesday I'll call them again and tell them I need the letter Tuesday (or possibly Wednesday, though maybe I won't tell them that) or else I'll have to postpone my departure and push back my start date.

Movers are supposed to grab most of my stuff on Friday (one week before I'd move). I think I can easily postpone that.

Also, glad to have my anxiety validated. Or something.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You can definitely hold firm on needing three weeks to give notice and move states, none of which you can do without a formal offer. Good luck!!

Our wings are not tired.

It would be very strange indeed if there were not anxiety involved with moving and starting a new job. I hope they get the letter to you early Tuesday. I typed Monday and had to correct. Sorry the holiday weekend is making it another delay!

May the move and new job be awesome enough to erase the memory of the anxious days.

Sending along wishes for peace and comfort to your family, Suela. Also fanning some of my cold weather that way. Yikes! 114!

Sorry about the delay, Tommy. I remember at Lowe's it took them forever to go from 'you're hired' to having the actual paperwork.

The weather has broken a bit, thank god. It's cool enough to run the dog in the woods this morning, and it's only 80 degrees in my house.

I'm taking a precious hour or two to myself, but I should probably go back up the hill and clean my sister's kitchen.

It was probably 65 when I went to the pool. And the water was COLD. Fastest 4K in a year. Chill set in pretty quick once I stopped moving...even out of the pool. Really liked that hot shower!

Also, they throw a brunch the last Sunday of the season! One more outdoor swim tomorrow.

And now I should clean house.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We went to the house of one of my SMIL's daughters to go swimming. It was fun to see Mr.S splashing about in water wings.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I am so sorry Consuela, my heart aches for all of you

Sorry Consuela, that's terrible news.

It's really terrible.

And now to add a bit of drama, my younger brother took his FIL and his toddler with him on a trip to Tahoe with his 9-yo daughter for some sort of hockey weekend for his daughter. So that's one adult English speaker with 2 kids and a smart Chinese 65-year-old with not a word of English.

What happens? The FIL gets appendicitis. And it's complicated and they have to keep him for a couple of days on heavy antibiotics before they operate, and there's my brother with a toddler and a 9-yo, 200+ miles from home. So this morning at 5 am my niece & her bf drove my SIL up to Tahoe to get the kids, because the toddler needs to go home and someone who can communicate with him has to stay with the FIL.

It never rains, etc. But I'm also worried about trouble coming in 3s.
