I'm sorry, Teppy. It's so hard to lose one.
Last night I was out late! My niece threw her BF a surprise party, and since he's a sous-chef, the party started at about midnight after he got out of work. So there I was, happily not the oldest person there, at a local bar with a bunch of 20-somethings and the BF's parents. It was fun, and there were awesome salted-caramel brownies.
I did manage to run the dog this morning, and then we went to class, where we had one really good run and 2 other only okay ones (user error!). I spent the rest of the day faffing about the house and doing yard work. But I did read The True Meaning of Smekday, which was very fun.
I'm sorry , Steph
So so sorry, Steph
My condolences, Steph. It is heartbreaking.
Last night I tried a recipe for salisbury steak. I'd only ever had it in tv dinners before. The homemade version is a bit more bother than a tv dinner, but considerably tastier. [link]
Timelies all!

We are going to a Nationals game this afternoon. First one this year for us.
Hung out with an old friend and her family last night, and what is better than holding hands with a two year old??
So Salisbury steak is like ketleti with gravy? I never knew that.
I did nothing all day yesterday and it was wonderful but I really can't do that again today.
Yesterday was family cookout at my nephew's house. His mother was there. I think this might have been the first time I had seen her in 45 years. This nephew was born when my brother was 17. He was super upset with my mother because she wouldn't sign for him to get married at the time, but her argument was that if he still wanted to marry at 18 there would be nothing stopping him. Yeah, the relationship didn't last. In recent decades they have been friendly and she was perfectly friendly to me after all these years. It was a lovely day under a canopy of large shade trees. Not that shade was really needed since I don't think it got to 70, but very pleasant and relaxing.
