this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

So the eclipse is outside, and I would like to see it. On the other hand, it's 95 degrees outside.

It's damn hot here, too. I'm just going out for a few minutes, going back in for a little bit, back out, etc. But I'm going over to Tim's work around 2:00 (he works 1 mile from our house) to watch it hit totality (well 92% totality) with him and his co-workers.

I think we're at maximum here, it looks like early evening, just after the sun's down past the horizon.

Oh, no, fifteen minutes till max. We may get streetlights.

If you're not, you should go outside for a bit. Birds get all confused and nightsong/morningsongy.

It's definitely evening.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am seeing no difference in brightness of day here yet.

Our wings are not tired.

So cool. The NASA stream is very nice. A while before I need to go outside, but a glorious day to do so.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

It's too warm for me outside, but I might step out for a few minutes at as close to the totality as central NC is going to see.

Meanwhile, I'm sitting in one of the library's reading rooms, which I'm sharing with a couple of extraordinarily dedicated students who don't seem to care that something is about to swallow the sun.

Very much end of the day lighting here. A bit longer and I should see street lights. And I did not need that full reflection off the shiny semi-truck going down the freeway. I've got spots.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I went outside and there's definitely a piece missing from the sun. So that's cool.
