I am seeing no difference in brightness of day here yet.

So cool. The NASA stream is very nice. A while before I need to go outside, but a glorious day to do so.
It's too warm for me outside, but I might step out for a few minutes at as close to the totality as central NC is going to see.
Meanwhile, I'm sitting in one of the library's reading rooms, which I'm sharing with a couple of extraordinarily dedicated students who don't seem to care that something is about to swallow the sun.
Very much end of the day lighting here. A bit longer and I should see street lights. And I did not need that full reflection off the shiny semi-truck going down the freeway. I've got spots.
I went outside and there's definitely a piece missing from the sun. So that's cool.

For real, now that it's started and I'm seeing it, I'm having a totally atavistic response where the eclipse is creeping me OUT. What are you doing, Steph's brain?
Still pretty sunny here, right now. I expect to be fully creeped out in about half an hour.

I'm getting the gnawing feeling that I should be going home, it so dark outside. I expect to be depressed in an hour.
No visible streetlights yet, but there definitely should be.
edit: Just stood up, and there are streetlights on further down the valley!
It's the Skygoat. We all knew this day would come.
First contact here about a half hour ago, and we'll hit totality in just under an hour. I'll be outside with Rose's class when it happens. Exciting!
Co-worker: If I don't get superpowers by the end of the day, I'm going to be pissed!
