Been packing all day and both J and are TIRED. Still much more to do--I warned my boss that I might have to take Wednesday off as well as Thursday (moving day) and it looks like that is DEFINITELY happening.

Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office SAR (TCSSAR or T-SAR per the website), sarameg. He is looking forward to spending some time with Google Earth figuring out exactly where he was. When I was talking to him another helicopter came in (did I say he got flown out on a helicopter? To be on the safe side, presumably. He wasn't hurt but he was out without shelter at maybe 8000 ft overnight with nothing to eat but granola so probably not in the best physical shape) and he said it was humbling to see what was mobilized to find him. Hopefully he'll think of that before taking off on his own again. I will also need to remind him that he was just about to head off in the wrong direction when he was found so maybe stay put once in a while!

STEP made me think I ought to find another baby Taylor. She just updates me these days, she's figured out her shit & is doing well. But a few hours a week, just an extra hand? I had unprecedented involvement in Taylor's life, I don't expect to get enveloped into family like that again, but..I can teach geometry, algebra and talk through writing papers and research.
Ok, then. School's starting soon, I can do this.

I feel weird right now. My sister sent me a message via Facebook that an uncle died. I don't remember him. I remember the name, but have zero clear memories of him to separate him out from various other relations on my dad's side of the family.
ETA This guy is not showing up on our family tree on Ancestry.com. Whoever filled in dad's siblings did not include spouses and children. But the more I think about it, the more I think he might be a stepbrother.
