You know what really pisses me off about the post-election analysis? I keep hearing that all the working class folks are pissed off at the "elites" for not making their lives better or not caring about them. And somehow that boils down to who is president, when 99% of what can be done to help anyone falls on congress's head. You want change - overturn the Republican stranglehold in the Senate and House. Basic civics people! Go back to high school, you obviously don't deserve the diploma they gave you.

I am stuck at: "How? What? How?"
Well, and, DOnald Trump IS an elite! He acts like some sort of yokel, but he is, like, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous elite! Generational elite!
Obstruct for 8 years then run on how government is broken.
Timelies all!
Oh God. I have no words.
I have warned TCG that staying silent and being nice to relatives on both sides of our family when they say things I find abhorrent is over. Hopefully people will not test me today.

I don't know about that. According to [link] from exit poll day data, it was college educated white women (64% of the vote for Trump) and college educated white men (72% support for Trump) who voted for Trump more than white women without degrees (45% for Trump) or white men without college degrees 54%.
And let's be clear, that analysis seems nuts to me. Is the WaPo data fucked up?
My stomach hurts and nothing makes much sense.
Basically, a whole lot of white folks fucked up. When the factories and pensions fail to come back, and social security is gone, they might have a few regrets. Bet they still find a way to blame Obama.
Man, Samantha Bee is going to be so disappointed in us.
