Current heat index of 111° here, and the real temp has cooled down 3° from the afternoon high. I don't wike it.
Natter 75: More Than a Million Natters Served
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Meanwhile, the fairly epic storm we had has actually cooled things down to 74 here, which generally does not happen in NOLA in summer. We generally don't even get that as a low at night.
The heat here is finally supposed to break tomorrow. Right now my poor AC is having trouble getting below 77 inside.
Also, the Impeachment clause and 25th Amendment don't care about statutes of limitation.
No, but I believe that they only apply to Federal crimes. I assume New York would have some interest in some of the same things.
It's warm here, but now that the remains of the hurricane have blown through, I'm hoping it'll be a little dryer, so my paint will set. Second coat is now on for all of the cabinet interiors. Trying to figure out how long I need to let it cure before plates go in....
Bummer msbelle, I feel like the Vintage Mall should be all retro fab. Then again there's a place in Orange County called the Anti Mall, and it's like a Disneyfied version of Grunge, or at least it used to be in the '90s. Not sure what it's like now.
There's no evidence Trump would think this was a political liability. He knows people who have gone to jail for fraud or money-laundering; but I doubt anyone in his circle has ever been prosecuted for sex with an under-aged girl.
Agreed. I mean, there's Jeffrey Epstein, but he got off easy if you ask me
My mother has a guy in prison she goes to see (with a group from church), and she was just telling me that he thinks Trump will end up in prison. I was like, "How many rich white men has he seen in the criminal justice system at all?" She's going to put that in her letter back to him....
Right now it's 100 degrees with a heat index of 117.
Flight was 75 minutes late taking off due to a monster storm. Hopefully there will still be something open to grab dinner... Uhg.
but I believe that they only apply to Federal crimes
Well, the Impeachment clause just refers to "high crimes and misdemeanors", it doesn't specify federal crimes. Basically, impeachment is a political thing rather than criminal, and high crimes are whatever the House of Representatives thinks they are.
I went to the hardware store and bought patching compound and grout, which I think means I'm regrouting the bathtub tomorrow. Whoot.
Flew to Oakland today, where it was 78 degrees. Now I'm in Lafayette, where it's 96. At least it's not humid.
