I have hit it off with someone. Recently I mean, a new someone than the other one who turned...intense. This new guy is not intense and may be too laid back but I'm trying to take a more have fun and enjoy the moment type approach to this.

I felt myself coming down with a bad case of the Don't Wannas today (skipped the farmer's market, indecisive about lunch, frittered time away unproductively all afternoon) so I drove to a neighboring town to eat steak out rather than getting takeout and being completely antisocial. I think it did me some good; if nothing else I saw some nice countryside in the sunset.

I went to my friend's bbq and it was nice! She and her partner bought a house! I'm so pleased, I have known her since she was 15 or so and trying to figure out what to do with her life while spending all her time online with middle-aged Farscape fans. And now she's 30 and has a house and a good job and goes to Burning Man. It's lovely.

And then I stopped at the store and they had Humphrey Slocombe ice cream, which is the bomb. And I have Stephen Colbert clips on Youtube to watch.

Life could be worse.

There are a few people on who are transplants and/or not horrible on the profile. Just since I have just started I am having to weed out.

It's actually better for the profile to give me enough information to eliminate them than not really say anything that tells you about the person.

Oh, I like nice honest guys! Good luck with the online dating stuff. There was no internet the last time I dated. I've seen many people that had good success, and some not so much. Honestly, the person I am thinking of that has the worst luck also has horrible taste in men and a seriously flawed father and brother as male role models, so I can't blame the internet. Quite a number of nice success stories I have seen were in the geriatric set, friends of my parents and siblings. That surprised me, but shouldn't have.

Colbert, and others in the late night comedy biz are in large part responsible for whatever bit of sanity I have left.
