Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

Happy 4th of July to all American Buffistas!

Yeah, suck it, England!

Got my swim in at Druid. Confirmed there is no spf or formulation of sunscreen that will truly last one of my swims. But no burns so far. Am going to attempt a taco. Tooth seems to get worse as day progresses, but I haven't eaten anything yet, so it's pretty calm.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Not to suggest the obvious, sara, but are you taking painkillers in the morning and then not re-upping later in the day? Just checking.

I made it home in time yesterday to go to my uncle and aunt's beach house! So good! Spent the night on the sofa, which was great because/even though I was woken up by the sun rising over the ocean. Sunrise over the ocean is fantastic, sleeping five hours less so.

So now I'm not going to some other friends' cookout tonight so I can go to bed early and back to work tomorrow.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Went to my small town Fourth of July celebrations with a friend. It's in the nineties, sunny, and humid, so I tapped out after a couple of hours. It was fun while it lasted, though. Sorry about the tooth woes, sarameg.

So.....I think I have learned something about the rash I get sometimes from the sun. It must be burn + heat, because I got a slight sunburn on my upper arms on Saturday (farmer's tan), but then had sleeves on again yesterday and today, and now I have the rash. At least my work clothes also have sleeves. But I guess I should only be hot one day in a row?

I'm taking Advil all day long.

I got TWO tacos. And tamarind agua fresca and it was good & filling. And I probably won't eat anything else today because even not chewing on that side made it kinda mad.

I'd like to sand & stain, but gonna wait to see if it storms ( & cools things off a bit) first.

Dude had such a good sense of humor about the whole deal!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Jesse, that sounds like photosensitivity, if you're getting a rash that develops about 24 hours after being in the sun.

Oh yeah, it's definitely that, although I didn't realize it was just a delayed reaction to the burn. It's not a reaction to anything, though -- I inherited it from my grandmother. Luckily, I also inherited darker skin from my other grandmother, so it's not that severe or common. I just have to use sun screen, which I haven't done much of this weekend.

After continued reading, I bet that's part of why they thought my grandmother had lupus one time. (It's never lupus.) The bad news was, the drugs they gave her for the "lupus" sent her totally psychotic. Terrifying.
