Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So.....I think I have learned something about the rash I get sometimes from the sun. It must be burn + heat, because I got a slight sunburn on my upper arms on Saturday (farmer's tan), but then had sleeves on again yesterday and today, and now I have the rash. At least my work clothes also have sleeves. But I guess I should only be hot one day in a row?

I'm taking Advil all day long.

I got TWO tacos. And tamarind agua fresca and it was good & filling. And I probably won't eat anything else today because even not chewing on that side made it kinda mad.

I'd like to sand & stain, but gonna wait to see if it storms ( & cools things off a bit) first.

I have been chortling since lunch over last year's saga of a man's response to attending a plantation-themed corporate costume party in "period appropriate" dress as instructed: [link]

Dude had such a good sense of humor about the whole deal!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Jesse, that sounds like photosensitivity, if you're getting a rash that develops about 24 hours after being in the sun.

Oh yeah, it's definitely that, although I didn't realize it was just a delayed reaction to the burn. It's not a reaction to anything, though -- I inherited it from my grandmother. Luckily, I also inherited darker skin from my other grandmother, so it's not that severe or common. I just have to use sun screen, which I haven't done much of this weekend.

After continued reading, I bet that's part of why they thought my grandmother had lupus one time. (It's never lupus.) The bad news was, the drugs they gave her for the "lupus" sent her totally psychotic. Terrifying.

God bless the inventor of Venetian blinds, for I can lay in my chair sans clothing in front of a fan and not give a fuck.

I got attacked by a flock of mockingbirds.

Did you mock them? 'Cause that's how you get attacked by mockingbirds.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

As recounted in the classic song, Ï Mocked The Flock And The Flock Won".
