Wow, we only just got the first local strawberries last week.

In other news of summer, went to the beach! And am already home again because I was with my mother and that's how she rolls. Pretty sure Tuesday will also be a beach day, and then I'll be by myself.

For reasons passing understanding, I woke up at 5 am today. So I treated myself to a leisurely breakfast at the local diner and then did my weekly shopping. I was home and had most of the day's chores done (at least the ones I had any plans to do, which probably doesn't encompass everything I should do) before 9 am. A nice byproduct, at least. Now I plan to spend the rest of the day reading Steampunk novels and hiding from the summer heat in my ACed apartment.

I've already been up, fed all the pets, and taken the new work cargo van in to get a trailer brake controller installed, and now I'm back at the office trying to get myself into grove to work on a big estimate. It's not even 11 am, ugh.

Gudanov, I just read the last dozen or so posts on Building a Better Board. I know I have said it before, that I don't really understand what you are talking about - that I appreciate your hard-won knowledge and all the work you are putting in, bears repeating. I'm sure people who do know what you are talking about appreciate it even better.

I got a lot of cherries. But I prefer strawberries in salad.

Welp, looks like I shoulda checked the weather earlier. Thunderstorms headed this way. Maybe they'll be done by 5...

Went to Target after lunch to pick up some things for Mr. S.(forks, spoons, sippy cups and sunscreen) Now he's napping.

Sleeping in this morning paid off dividends in a dream about making a 1960s Disney live action/animated musical starring Kristin Chenoweth and Thomas Jane. There were singing guinea pigs!

The gray alley kitten seems to have overcome her fear of me and decided that my hands are food. She won't stop nipping at them when I pet her (but she's purring and trying to catch my hand with her paws, so they're clearly not get away from me! bites).

Since I had semi-unexpected overnight guests--Cousin contacted me Thursday afternoon about spending Friday night over-- I am trying to build upon my quickly cleaned up house and do deeper cleaning/clearing.

My living room really did get into presentable shape easier than I thought, but that means a lot of stuff I need to deal with got put away out of site.

Thus far I have almost managed to clean off the table beside my chair. I also scrubbed and bleached the kitchen sinks.

I am also in cleaning mode. Taking a break just now, soon will be scrubbing the bathtub.
