Dawn: I thought you were adequate. Giles: And the accolades keep pouring in. I'd best take my leave before my head swells any larger. Good night.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I may start pestering you for excess books.

Funny you should bring that up... Shipping gonna be a thing, tho'.

I've actually been thinking about setting up a half-dozen little free libraries, if I can find rights of way where nobody minds.

Argh. Freaking out about this trip. Leaving in a few minutes. But freaked out I've forgotten something key. (I did nearly forget my work credit card, because I don't usually carry it anymore!) But I'm still feeling super anxious. (OK, partly because, say, I don't know what I'm actually going to be presenting, or what they'll be asking, and when I get back I can't be jet lagged because I'll already have missed half of pride, and also I'll have missed four days of work which will be a lot of emails and and and and....)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Well, I seem to have lost my cell phone. The last place I know I had it was Macy's on Saturday, because I called Gary from there. I thought I had put it in its usual spot when I got home, but it isn't there, nor is it on the floor or anywhere in the room. I guess I can call Macy's to see if it was turned in, but otherwise....(it's not a smart phone, so I've only lost the contacts.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You can do it, meara! You know your stuff and everything will be fine when you get back.

Yeah, I'd call Macy's, Sheryl. Good luck!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Scrappy, that sounds like a wonderful idea!

I've actually been thinking about setting up a half-dozen little free libraries, if I can find rights of way where nobody minds.

Me too - I've been thinking of setting one up on the edge of my yard by the road. Lots of people from the apartment complex walk by going to the bus stop. It'd be a perfect place for one.

Suzi, congrats on being an $8M badass. You can do it! You know, if you want to.

Hope you find your phone, Sheryl!

meara, you totally got this! It'll all be fine!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Go, Suzi!

You got this, meara!

Scrappy, I'd love to come help set things up when you get to that point!

Storms hit, just enough lagging thunder to make swim dubious, so I gave away the old ac unit and power washed the front porch and steps. And man, that was gross & satisfying.

Our wings are not tired.

Funny you should bring that up... Shipping gonna be a thing, tho'.

At least media mail is a lower rate! Sounds like an awesome idea, Scrappy.

Yes, you got this, meara!

I called Macy's, fought my way through the automated system to the area where I was when I last had the phone...and got voice mail. I may try calling tomorrow from work, but if I have no success, I go get another phone.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Today was Harvey's annual exam and shots. The vet he's seen most often over the last few years recently retired. New vet seems good - suggested that since I'm not seeing any dramatic changes in him that it is not necessary to do lab work. That was nice, not to have to stress him out. She also gave us a new pain medication to try that he can take every day for more consistent pain relief. It's in capsules, vet suggests breaking open the capsule and mixing the powder into a spoonful of turkey baby food. So far the only turkey baby food I'm seeing has corn starch in it. Corn is one of the things Harvey is allergic to.

ETA: I just found a turkey baby food that has no corn starch but does have chicken. Harvey is allergic to chicken.
