But? There's always a but. When this is over, can we have a big 'but' moratorium?

Our wings are not tired.

Well, at least the NBC Megyn Kelly thing tanked in the ratings. [link] Maybe they will think twice about giving scum a platform.

Ok...people...I'm freaking out. I just talked with my project manager in California. The contract I've been working on with her, providing support, is being split into three pieces and was put out to bid, so if we want to keep it, we have to submit our bids for each piece. One piece is about $8M over 2 years. The person who would run the technical side has no project management experience and the PM I've been working with is too senior and is also ready to move on to her next thing. So they would like to put me in as PM if we win the work. Me. I haven't been the PM on anything. The folks who are throwing my name around have worked with me and know my skill level and each one of them has given the go ahead but today is the first I'm hearing about this.

On one hand, dang, that is a lot of responsibility and I feel amazing that the project delivery team has that much faith in me. But on the other hand, I'm not quite sure that is the direction I want to go, career-wise. I mean, yes, I'm getting my Masters in Project Management, but that was more to enhance my current Project Controls skill set. I...I'm just flipping out a bit. This wasn't anything I considered and if I did go this direction, starting with an $8M contract?!?!?!?

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Shoot yeah, Suzi! You can do it!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, Suzi! I mean, if you don't want to it, that's fine too, but it sounds great to me!

Definitely think if that's where you want your career to go, but I. General awesome, Suzi!!

I am not yet packed for my trip. I do t have a suitcase of the right size (I don't want to check it but the only one small enough is too small--my other one is a little too big for them and I feel like European airlines are more strict?) can't decide if I should just hope they'll let me on with it or if I should take the chance they'll lose it or whaf

I just sent a bunch of questions to my PM asking about responsibility expectations and such. My brain is slowly coming around to the idea and the fact that the people who recommended me would be there to support me as I figure this out, IF we win that work.

Le crazy.

Coding and Sleeping

After a little time off, I'm back at work today (well, back remotely). It appears the e-mail system has been upgraded and I no longer have the ability to read my e-mail. Bother.

Art Crawl!!!

Suzi - that is an amazing opportunity. Evan if you decide you don't want it so amazing to be considered.

Gud - sounds like a totally normal eff-up.

My office is like a secret organization in the company so IT kinda forgets that we have a very atypical setup and can easily get locked out of corporate stuff.

Our wings are not tired.

Getting locked out of corporate stuff could be a benefit to productivity.

Yay, Suzi! It is always a plus to find that your employer and co-workers have that level of confidence in you.
