Buffy: He ran away, right? Giles: Sort of, more. turned and swept out majestically, I suppose. Said I didn't concern him. Buffy: So a mythic triumph over a completely indifferent foe? Giles: Well, I'm not dead or unconscious, so I say bravo for me.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Slowly but surely, this nasty cold is going away. Last night I got a decent amount of sleep for the first time in a week.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Well, I don't actually need cocoa powder. At least not at the moment.

Another update to Buffista 2.0, BTW. Message Center now works. At least in theory.

The good: my house is clean! And the kittens mom came and took kitteh away. Which is sad, a bit, but good because she's was super happy to see her kitten again. Also I found a new series of books I think I'll enjoy, as I just finished the first one, AND they were all available at the library so I downloaded the next several.

The bad: it's a Friday night and instead of going dancing I ended up sitting on my couch reading a book and deciding to be lazy and eat chips and cookies and cherries for dinner. It seemed too much effort to shower and change and go talk to people.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I would have been disappointed if someone hadn't referenced "I'm On a Boat."

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Damn, you guys. My dad called me about half an hour ago to tell me that my uncle was killed in a car crash today. Turns out, he caused it; he had Alzheimer disease and shouldn't have been driving and he crossed the median and hit 2 other cars. One other person died and 3 others were hospitalized, but their injuries weren't life-threatening.

It was on the news -- or, at least, footage of the vehicles after the crash was -- and it looks really horrible. I hope that he and the other driver died instantly. It's so awful.

He was my last uncle on my dad's side. He was a really good man for as long as I knew him.

I can't even really process this, to tell you the truth. I'm pretty much numb. My dad sounded the same way. Or, actually, he just sounded matter-of-fact. He only has one sibling left now.

Oh my god Steph. I cannot even.

I'm so sorry for your family, and the victims, and the victims' families.
