Pretty blue, 'Suela!
Feel better, hurty people!
Dana, your forebearance is earning you stars in your heavenly crown (ducks. runs).
I'm of the opinion most folks could use msbelle: organizer. I know I could.
Lounge, Laura, lounge like a ... well not a lizard. But something both inert and relaxing.
Way to wangle, Calli! Want to come help schlep more cartons of books than any household should have? I can't shelve anything till I go through everything and immediately cull the dross. Then painfully winnow down the can't give up vs. the will never read/read again. Probably several times, till what's left fits on the shelves we have.
I have what was my baby dresser that H refinished and I'd intended to hold craft fabric and paper and office supplies. Except, I don't really do any of that any more. I'd also asked for a slim bookcase to resemble one we saw in an antiques store to hold all my bathroom stuff: baskets of towels and facecloths, baskets of lotions and cosmetics and nail polish, spare tissue boxes, yadda. So I've decided to yoink the bookcase and replace it with the now-unemployed baby dresser, and put the bookcase in the foyer to A. show it off because pretty, and B. shelve.moar.books.
Anybody got the liniment?
At the airport! Met up with the group successfully, made it through security successfully (if slightly painfully on my part), and now waiting for the flight. Which is still an hour and a half late. But no later, at least, since it's due to an aircraft that left London late but is now en route.
Day 2 of the garage sale. twice as slow and the customers twice as crazy BUT we did sell some biggish items (train set, 21 paving stones, bassinet, a full box of scentsy stuff.... well over $150 more sold and the people DID come put down the deposit on the furniture.
I've got 5 boxes in my car to go away, friend took 4 to thrift, mom took 2 to charity. The rest is back in my garage to decide in the next week whether to store at mom's for fall sale or go to charity. Then we start really going through my stuff, friend's stuff, and mom's stuff for the fall sale - 2nd weekend of Oct. We have all been charged with drastically reducing holiday stuff so that we have lots of that in the sale along with clothes and furniture.
I started not feeling well about an hour ago, so I am inside under fan with a cooling wrap on my neck drinking water. Heat and maybe something I ate, or just fibro mad at me for 3 days of early mornings and lots of activity.
I hope the water and fan help, msbelle.
Beverly, I would love to help you sort books, if by "help" you mean "move three books, see one that looks interesting, sit down to flip through it and read bits and bobs for 15 minutes, put it to one side for further consideration, move three more books, etc." I'm glad the bookcase-dresser switch worked out for you.
My fearless toddler is starting to get nervous and scared about many things. Noises, taking a bath, etc. Is this a normal toddler thing? Should I be worried?
My method would be similar to Calli's.
You guys, ground defense is hard work. I clearly need cardio exercise in my life, which is my least favorite type of exercise.
The toddler I nannied went through a MAJOR attachment thing with mom at about 18 - 24 months, I think - super separation anxiety.
Not a lot of first-hand experience, but it seems like TONS of friends' kids have gone through the same thing at that age. She'll make it through to the other side!
