And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I hope it's this pie chart.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I might fight the senior editors to get that one left in.

Bahahahaha, the author emailed me and said "I have written to the editor-in-chief to request a waiver of a misguided rule. I know that you were only following orders, but omitting this figure hinders research."

Again, this is a PIE CHART. I mean, complex figures do exist (and we hatessss them, yes we do), and I could understand her outrage if we axed a really complex figure. But this figure is the equivalent of "Dogs: 43%; Cats: 43%; Lizards: 10%; Mothras: 3%; That Thing From The Neverending Story: 1%." WHAT THE SHIT LADY.

This is not a good day to fuck with me.

...can I read this study, though?

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I know that you were only following orders, but omitting this figure hinders research.

Why do you hate scientific progress, Steph? I mean, obviously a peon such as you can only follow orders without any kind of independent thought, but that pie chart could save the world. YOU DON'T KNOW.

I am very interested in the research methodology.

ION of "see Connie waste her work day planning vacations" nature: I decided to see what I could do with my trusty standby Vegas and what was indulgent and something I'm likely to be interested in. I don't drink (never got into the habit, watching stupid people in college did not impress me, and most of it tastes horrible and with too many carbs) so swilling cocktails in a limo sounds boring. But Grand Canyon bus tours, now . . . Nearly 50 years since I've seen it, the high desert is gorgeous, and I have a craving for petrified wood.

And to be honest, I like being coddled. Walk into a hotel and have my whims catered to. Yes, I am so far still a tourist, not a traveler.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm sorry about your friend, Suzi.

Tomorrow we drive to the land of little internet and probably no childproofing, aka my parents' house in CT.(Its been a few years since my youngest niebling was a toddler, and I don't know how often my brother and his family visited then)

At least we get to go to the Mystic Sea Songs festival for a day, in between various "Showing off Mr. S to my parents' friends" activities.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Are the researchers in the author's specialty middle school students? Because that's about the reading level we try to present information to in easily digestible simple chart form. I'm skeptical that the cutting edge of modern medicine is being advanced significantly by Tiffani in 7th grade Biology class.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I'm sorry for your loss, Suzi.

I feel as though there should be more charts about pies.

For distraction of the cute kind, may I commend to your attention, Corsica having a conversation while nursing her kittens [link] and it should offer a link to a live stream (I don't think that Corsica is still being fostered there, but they have other babies.
