Okay, heard from our realtors. Our back-up (buyer #2) dropped out. Back-up #three found another place. Back-up #four is still interested, but their offer is 20k below the original sold price. realtors want us to do another Open House on Sunday, try to get get someone to pay more $$. I think this means we will probably lose the place we want in Mi, because the last two buyers ended up not being able to get a mortgage and the buyer is very leery (even though the Mortgage Broker HE picked informed him that our credit rating was "elite" and that we were excellent buyers.
Meanwhile, my spouse is in Spain and asleep, so nothing can be decided until midnight tonight when he wakes up.
Sorry for boring you all with real estate mishegoss.
Can you counter-offer to Buyer #4 to see if they'll go higher?
yeah, already tried that. They are very nice, just don't have the $$$.
Ugh, so irritating. But considering how many offers you got the first time, I hope everything will work out quickly.
Buying/selling a house is up there with the suckiest tasks of adulthood.
Scrappy - argh. I hope it works out.
Homemade crab salad in front of a fan and watching Miss Fisher. A pleasant Monday night.
The ills in this world are not ones I can fight. I can speak the truth in many ways but I have no power to force anyone to listen to me. I have nothing. I can see it all going wrong and I can't stop it.
I have an article about nasal function to edit for tomorrow, and it refers to 2 scales used to evaluate function: the Nasal Obstruction Symptom Evaluation Scale and the 22-item Sinonasal Outcome Test, abbreviated to, respectively, "NOSE" and "SNOT22". I am not making this up. A group of researchers named a test "SNOT".
Wow, Andi, I cross-posted with you, and I don't want you to think I was making light of your post. I just didn't see it.
That's a frustrating, helpless way to feel.
If my opinion counts, I wouldn't say you have *nothing*; I think you bring light and happiness to all of us Buffistas every day, and that means a LOT. Especially now, when everything going wrong seems so horrific, your light and kindness is very VERY needed. And appreciated.

Giggling maniacally the whole way and snickering "We got away with it!"
