We are actually kind of sort of talking about getting miniature goats, since we have a barn.

The risk with miniature goats, from what I've heard, is that they frequently turn out to be regular-sized goats. (Same as with other mini/dwarf animals. It's really easy to pass off babies as miniature.) So as long as you don't mind accidentally having bigger goats than you originally planned for, I say go for it!
Any kind of goat! I think if you get the assortment you might get lucky and have a fainter or a tree-climber in the mix. (They come like that right? They should.)

DH's Torah portion was about determining whether candles are kosher, so I got to hear all about that whenever it was candle lighting time.
sj. - would it be possible to have a potential sitters come for few hours while you are there for a few days to get to know them? That was how the nanny interviews were set up. Initial interview then anyone we liked come for an hour to interact.
