Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Look, I am willing to take that risk right now if it would get me some laudanum.

I think you'd qualify as the eccentric aunt, and she's usually safe in the novels.

Glad I'm not the only one who went there.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I think you'd qualify as the eccentric aunt, and she's usually safe in the novels.

That is an excellent point. Someone bring me a fainting couch and a bottle of laudanum!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Congrats on the house, Scrappy!

I've taken Percoset once, after getting two wisdom teeth out. Slept a while, then was hazy for a bit. I only got one dose.

Because books.

I kind of want Carol Kane from The Princess Bride to come running into my brain shouting "LIAR!" when my thoughts are crap.

There should totally be an app for that.

Art Crawl!!!

Perhaps I should have abbreviated the show. . .

Also: I hope I am even a tiny portion of the bad ass that the woman they interviewed is. . . she is also an incredibly positive person. Which, I guess, makes sense if you're traveling all over the world and getting on strange horses to ride them at a dead run while shooting at targets with a bow and arrow.

ETA: one of the other people they interviewed this morning was a coach for the Mongol Derby.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

hippocampi-ma!

Was it Ben Franklin who said, if you have a complicated job to get done, give it to the laziest person in the room?

That was the premise in Cheaper By The Dozen. The father was an efficiency expert and always asked to watch the laziest person on the assembly line because they were the most efficient.
