Natter 75: More Than a Million Natters Served
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
ok - first draft - now edited.
I've taken a pretty long break from the dating world to raise my son. He is now an older teenager and able to stay alone so it seemed a good time to meet some people and possibly find a relationship. Part of raising my son brought me back to Texas (where I grew up) from New York (where I lived for almost 20 years).
In my spare time I listen to both public radio stations in the area, KERA for news (I do not watch any tv news), and KXT for music. I watch several tv shows and between Netflix and Amazon Prime will eventually catch up on any cable shows I missed. I think we are living in a golden age of television and there seems to be an endless supply of quality shows. In the past two years I have started going to a local gym and I try to go 4-5 times a week. I have also made it to a couple of theater productions (Book of Mormon and Wicked) and outdoor concerts (Old 97s County Fair and Bedford Blues Fest).
I like eating out and ethnic food, specifically Thai, Ethiopian, and Indian. I like to try locally owned places rather than chain restaurants. Same for stores and other experiences. I find it boring to travel and see the same stores/restaurants/buildings in every town, you have to hunt for the uniqueness.
I do have some pretty strong beliefs about things. I prefer Star Wars to Star Trek. I think tea and coffee should both be unsweetened. I think the Designated Hitter is horrible and do not even want to talk about the no-pitch walk. I like both cats and dogs and do not think that one should not have to choose. I think there are times to be serious, but those times are less frequent than many people believe.
Let's see what else. If you've read this far, âï¸. I like to read mysteries. I think clowns are usually creepy. I like roller coasters and carousels. The aesthetic of the 50s and early 60s is awesome. I will buy things just because of the packaging. I recycle and compost. I'm open minded and skew liberal on the political front. I have a mixed race family and also gay relatives. I have lived in three different states and am very open to, I would even say strongly considering, moving to a fourth in the next five years.
The first part is too much like a list. I this, I also that. I this this this and this.
tommyrot, I hope your flight is uneventful and that time with family is soothing for all of you.
too large brain in a too small skull
Cavalier King Charles? I saw a particularly horrifying documentary on how breeding for show dogs caused that trait.
Go, msbelle! What's your stance on cilantro? (I also do not know "birb")
I prefer Star Wars to Star Trek.
First of all, this is wrong.
I like both cats and dogs and do not think that one should not have to choose.
This sentence is off. Probably the double negative. Also, dogs are superior. That's just science.
Oh, Gud, and you seem such a reasonable man.
The "Future empty-nester seeks important birb" is perfect, IMO.
(For the non-Tumblr people, birb = bird. No, I don't know how it came about, either, but I find myself using it.)
Hiiiiii. I'm back from Disneyland. It was an awesome time, and I spammed my various social media accounts with photos. I'm home for two days, then I head off to PDX for the Vampire Masquerade Ball.
Also, dogs are superior. That's just science.
Bad science. That hasn't been peer-reviewed.
I'm now in a cheap Motel in Oakland. Traveling is exhausting!
Finally got to talk to my uncle Tom (I'm named after him) and he said that while my aunt doesn't want to see any of her friends, she'd be happy to see me and my sister. So that's good.
Tom says we can stay at their house in Lafayette. The hospice is further away in Alamo. Hopefully my sister and I can get refund for the nights we paid for but won't be staying.
eta: Reading On The Beach on the plane flights has left me in a weird mood.
I fixed the double negative and the Stupid thing is up and live. god help me.
so like 90% of these profiles the guys either have motorcycles or love to do a million outdoor things.
Dude, I put I like tv like 3 times in my profile.
