Argh. My brother finally got ahold of my uncle. My aunt is in bad shape and doesn't want to see anyone besides my uncle. She doesn't know my sister and I are on our way there. My uncle will talk to her and find out if she wants to see us.

In hopeful dog news, which I think we all could use, a friend's dog had a small seizure when she was visiting here on Sunday. She was able to take 'Abigail' to the vet yesterday, and the verdict is that it's being caused by a too large brain in a too small skull -- the end result of which is kind of a perpetual canine migraine, which explains why the poor pooch has always been a behavior problem, despite my friend's excellent dog-handling skills.

They can treat the condition with a couple simple drugs, which have a good chance of working. So, like I said, the seizure was actually a good thing, because it has led to a diagnosis that is going to really help the poor pup.

Aw, poor pup, but yay for treatment.

tommmyrot, can you focus on being there for your uncle, regardless of what happens with your aunt? That's got to be hugely valuable for him.
