Natter 75: More Than a Million Natters Served
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Man, I was up way later than usual, and then this morning I was having a dream where I was arguing with people, so I'm not really convinced I'm awake yet. Let alone functional.
I on the other hand was up before 7 AM, but really have not done anything at all productive. Oh computer of mine, you make me more productive and less productive.
Timelies all!
Went to my local comic book store to pick up my subscriptions, and to participate in Free Comic Book day. Tonight, Gary and I go to see Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2.
That sounds like a good day! I want to go take part in Free Comic Day but that would require getting dressed, so we'll just have to see how that goes.
I just spent $5 to ship a $10 item, but my cousin said she needed a Baby Groot, and her birthday is in two weeks, and her husband already makes a lot of fun of us, so the Funko Pop it was. (Rather than the life-size dancing one!)
Also, I got two fascinators in the mail, and am very excited about them!
All my winter clothes are finally out of my room. 9 things gotten rid of and two pairs of shoes gone.
Dishes washed.
Load of laundry in.

Just in time for the Derby!
I posted this on FB, but not here: today was the Flying Pig 5K, which I finished in 57 minutes! That's my best 5K time ever, and the first time I've finished a 5K in under an hour. I'm super proud. I cried just a little when I crossed the finish line and realized I was under an hour.
Because I am a nerd who is motivated not just by music but by the intersection of music and stories, I walked the first mile to songs from Hamilton, and crossed the finish line to the Captain America March (which is a pretty damn triumphant song to cross a finish line to).
However, I need new running shoes, and I realized that only a little bit ago, and it was too close to the race to break in new shoes. But since I wore my old running shoes, I got a GIANT blister on the ball of my right foot around the 2-mile mark. (I was at about 37 minutes there, but my foot started hurting so much from the blister that I thought I'd have to slow down so much that I wouldn't finish in under an hour, so I'm extra proud of my finish time.) Definitely have to get new shoes once that blister heals.
We also walked the 1-mile beer race last night, which was fun but also raining, windy as hell, and 45 degrees or less. RIDICULOUSLY cold. But fun! And the finisher's medal doubles as a bottle opener.
