Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

My whole life is me not doing things that I should be doing. You got this, Zen. Also what Jesse said.

and I said something along the lines of people being terrible and then I felt totally awkward because of his wife basically being one of those people being terrible and, um, that's striking me as funny. Just, like, does Miss Manners cover this?

Unless his wife goes around saying all the terrible things she wants to do to people who go to UT, I think you have legit wiggle room to say that she's not who you meant. Although if she's secretly who you meant, well, we won't tell.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I'm so sorry, Liese.

And also sending condolences to everyone else who has lost a beloved pet of late. Man, it hits me every year how hard springtime is on elderly pets.

Yeah. Seconding this.

In related news, today's mail brought Ruthven Kitty's skeleton after being cleaned. He's now in the coffin with his brother's skeleton.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We bring you an update on PantsGate 2017 (The Ongoing Saga Of One Man's Struggle To Clothe His Lower Half): pants have been ordered! I repeat, PANTS HAVE BEEN ORDERED! Also undershirts. They should be here by Friday.

Go pants go!!

My TV listings lied to me! The show called Wild West is actually about the American West, not British wackiness

That makes more sense. Though the show about wife-swapping, lesbians, and witches does sound intriguing. Moreso when it's British than in the Wild West though.

Zen, I hear ya. :( I am leaving on my first business trip in a YEAR tomorrow. Have I done anything? No. Am I ready at all? No. Do I have a million work things to do tomorrow before I leave, never mind stuff like packing? YES.

Art Crawl!!!

Ha ha!

We just had our first rehearsal of Beethoven's 9th with the orchestra. . . the choir's music doesn't have the measure numbers that the symphonic score does. . . confusing.

Also, I am not ready to sing Beethoven. Not at all.

If you're interested video of our Spring concert can be found here:

Schubert's Mass in G, Vaughn Williams' Serenade to Music, Revelation by Z. Randall Stroope and John the Revelator. The concert took place in a local Lutheran church.

Oh dang. That's not going to be confusing at all.

I am organizing a team of friends to play soccer in a tournament Labor Day weekend (why no, I don't play soccer, why do you ask?). We have decided that since the tournament is in Canada this year, our team name is going to be "Maple Chasers". And we are going to be looking for Canadian wives to get us out of the US (never mind that some folks already have girlfriends). We want to have themed nicknames as well--so far, "Whiskey Business" is going to involve a Risky Business costume and Canadian whisky. We will also have an "HBiC"--Head Beaver in Charge. Can anyone think of appropriate fun/punny Canadian-chasing type nicknames?? Especially if they are dirty and/or lesbian-ish??

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Meatloaf for dinner. Of course.

I don't think there was cheese. I'm sure the fine people at Costco could tell you.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The glorious Ninth! So exciting, sumi!

Pants by Friday, woohoo! Vicariously tracking other people's orders, that's a new experience. Can vicariously doing anything count as an experience? Must ponder.

I'm sorry you're having trouble doing things, I feel ya. You will eventually be on your trip and have a good time and if you don't manage to pack everything it will be okay. And it's ok if you can't believe that right now, it's still true.

Msbelle, maybe go to a doctor? If you aren't getting better it might be time for a professional assessment.

Burrell, I think it's maybe more awkward than at I didn't mean to include her, that I could forget what I'm sure is always on his mind. Does that make sense? Anyway, I just had to unload my awkwardness somewhere and hoped y'all wouldn't mind, no hair pats necessary.

Ooh, fun, meara! I will put my subconscious to work on puns tonight, see what happens.
