Good to know!
My breakfast was not nearly as interesting. Although I am looking forward to drinking the fancy organic Earl Grey Lavender tea we bought at the Japanese festival. It smells good.
Yesterday was busy! We had a baby shower to attend at a cousin's house that we never see. Walk in and an old friend we had lost contact with more than a dozen years ago was there. I would never have recognized him because he had retired from his previous line of work and his hair was grown out and he was covered in tattoos. He jumped up and basically tackle hugged my husband. (I was in the other room and got mine shortly thereafter) He has a very common name so our efforts to find him on line were never successful. So we got all befriended on FB and I am just delighted to be in touch again. He apparently is best buds with DH's cousin and never put the Holt name connection together.
So that was a party from 2-6 with a zillion kids and bounce house and lots of drinking games for the adults because these cousins are in the bar business and drinking is a big thing. I did not drink anything but water because I had another social engagement that went from 7-11 or so. I walked to that one at a neighbor's house because I expected to not be able to drive home. Lots of great food, and booze, and delightful neighbors. There was a conflicting other neighborhood charity event at the local playhouse so it was a smaller crowd, and people that floated back and forth to both events.
And today it is pouring rain, for which we are extremely grateful. Dog has no interest in going outside, and everyone but me is still in bed! Most excellent lazy day. I shall read in peace! (after I get off the computer)
Oh, that all sounds lovely, Laura!
It was a good reminder that I really do like socializing and need to do so more often.
Petite Breakfast Fresh Brie
I have no idea how to parse this.
Timelies all!
Spent part of the morning chasing Mr. S around the hotel. This was after he tried to cover me in stuffed penguins.(better than live ones, I suppose)
I slept in, made mac cry on his birthday by criticizing him and not making a big enough deal for his birthday, I guess.
so, basically homemaker and mother of the year here.
not really the motivation I was looking for to make this a productive day.

Ah, the ever popular toddler training program. Get your exercise keeping up for sure.
{{msbelle}} I hope the day improves.
gives Mac birthday stink eye
Sigh. I hate random bad days. Like, when I can at least point to something bumming me out that's one thing (even if I know intellectually I'm having an outsized reaction to it or whatever) but today I'm just feeling super bummed for no apparent reason. And my friends are busy and I feel like I shouldn't lean on them so much because they aren't extroverts like I am :(
I'm sorry, meara. Maybe you can find some activity this afternoon that will break the mood. Getting outside and walking some, like a walk to go buy yourself flowers might help.
My son posted a picture on my FB wall today that shows a profile of his impressive beard. As you can see, he is not so much conforming, but he is working and bought himself a car so that is something. Even did the DMV title stuff by himself. So go adulthood! [link]
My swimming is being foiled this weekend. Just getting ready to leave & get a text that the pool is closing for the day. And it's really too late to drive to Towson. Ah well, I'll go for a walk.
