That sucks, -t.
My garmin tries to automatically figure out if I'm working out based on my movements. Mostly that just means when I walk to the store or something later "walk" for like 8 minutes will show up. But I was looking and realized last night it decided I was SWIMMING for 20 minutes. Apparently dancing reads like swimming?!?
I want to go to Iceland too!
I didn't get up and out early enough for the Science march or for the first panel I wanted to see at C2E2 (sorry FitzSimmons) but since I stayed until 9 for the Cards Against Humanity panel that would've been a really long day.
That's funny, meara. My Fitbit often thinks I am on a bike or elliptical machine when I am not, but it hasn't thought I was swimming yet.
Lost my post...
Thanks for the rec, -t! Dill is close to the house we're renting and is on my list for to try!
Yay! You might also keep an eye out for the Chuck Norris Grill. I never went I.side, but it makes a good landmark and always reminded me of that Natter thread (we stayed down the street from it and were a couple blocks from Dill, sounds like you might be in the neighborhood)
Trader Joe's PSA: they are now carrying Petite Breakfast Fresh Brie, at least the one near me is. And their Cold Btew Latte Dessert Bars are very similar to my coffee popsicles.
This post brought to you Breakfast and the letter Nom.
Happy discovery: fresh Brie can be acceptably sliced with a popsicle stick.
Good to know!
My breakfast was not nearly as interesting. Although I am looking forward to drinking the fancy organic Earl Grey Lavender tea we bought at the Japanese festival. It smells good.
Yesterday was busy! We had a baby shower to attend at a cousin's house that we never see. Walk in and an old friend we had lost contact with more than a dozen years ago was there. I would never have recognized him because he had retired from his previous line of work and his hair was grown out and he was covered in tattoos. He jumped up and basically tackle hugged my husband. (I was in the other room and got mine shortly thereafter) He has a very common name so our efforts to find him on line were never successful. So we got all befriended on FB and I am just delighted to be in touch again. He apparently is best buds with DH's cousin and never put the Holt name connection together.
So that was a party from 2-6 with a zillion kids and bounce house and lots of drinking games for the adults because these cousins are in the bar business and drinking is a big thing. I did not drink anything but water because I had another social engagement that went from 7-11 or so. I walked to that one at a neighbor's house because I expected to not be able to drive home. Lots of great food, and booze, and delightful neighbors. There was a conflicting other neighborhood charity event at the local playhouse so it was a smaller crowd, and people that floated back and forth to both events.
And today it is pouring rain, for which we are extremely grateful. Dog has no interest in going outside, and everyone but me is still in bed! Most excellent lazy day. I shall read in peace! (after I get off the computer)
Oh, that all sounds lovely, Laura!
It was a good reminder that I really do like socializing and need to do so more often.
