We decided to avoid Election Night madness and just bought tickets to go see Mad Max: Fury Road Black & Chrome Edition.

I continue to be worried about the Senate
I think Kander (the Dem whose assemble-a-rifle-while-blindfolded ad seriously pushed my competence kink buttons) has a good chance in Missouri.
You ever feel like you'll welcome a really bad cold or the flu because you'd get the spend several days in bed without feeling guilty about it?
So often! And then I try to remind myself that personal days and mental health days are legitimate. And then I get up and go to work, usually.
If I didn't have the interview today, I would have turned around and gone home as soon as I realized I left my food AND wallet at home. Great start to the week. But no, camped out in the cafe, I'll go get those things when I leave this building to go to my office.
Tomorrow the election ends and four solid years of congressional investigations begin.
Clothes are annoying. Every morning, because of social expectations and the weather, I have to put something on before I can leave the house. When I was a kid, the 21st century was supposed to have paper clothes that I could pull out of the replicator, put them on, then throw them away at the end of the day. Those and the flying cars. The future is disappointing.

Hush you! I really am hoping that Paul Ryan would prefer a gets things done legacy to an obstruction legacy.
I hear you on that, Connie. I fantasize about nanotechnology bots that will automatically drape me in appropriate clothing as I move through the world without requiring thought or laundry-doing on my part.
I want something like a 3D printer that we can fill with the base materials of our choice (cotton, silk, rayon, etc.) and then send a pattern to. At which point it'll print out clothing perfectly tailored to our bodies and preferences. Instead of shipping premade garments to us, clothing retailers could email us outfit files that we can edit to match our dimensions and needs (put a pocket in it!). Home designers could upload examples of their creations to Etsy and sell the creation files for download. And, when a piece of clothing reaches the end of it's life, utility, or style, there'd be a hopper in the side of the machine that would break the clothing back down to its base materials.

I'm pretty sure he would. Unfortunately, it sounds like he has to spend all his time fighting with the Freedom Caucus rather than actually trying to work on legislation.
I still say gerrymandering is the leading cause of our current government disfunction. All the "safe seats" have lead to more and more extreme partisans getting elected to the House.
