I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly is a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

So I just got back from Power Rangers at the dollar cinema and....I'm confused. That was a fun action movie with good pacing, some characters I liked spending time with, and some teen drama that never made me cringe. Why was everyone so down on this movie?

(I should specify - not everyone here, just the reaction in general)

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

The preview for Power Rangers made me want to see it, but I never got around to it. Maybe I'll try to catch it.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

I was randomly channel-surfing and came across the final few scenes of Deathly Hallows part 1 on Freeform. Annnnd Dobby's dead and now I'm bawling. Goddammit.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I saw It Follows years ago and I still think about it. I shouldn't watch horror movies. Even the bad ones get to me. It Follows was good though. I thought, someone heard about pursuit predators and ran with the idea to a very scary place.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

One thing that always bothered me about Dobby's death: we constantly see that folks in the wizarding world use magic for everything all the time, even the most mundane tasks. So why would Bellatrix decide to devote time to learning how to throw knives? It's a pretty rare skill for people who can't just kill someone with a word and a flick of the wrist.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Maybe it's not something other wizards are very good at defending themselves against?

Time to kill in Azkaban?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Time to kill in Azkaban?

Time being particularly vulnerable to throwing knives.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Just saw The Big Sick and it was wonderful. Just lovely and smart and warm-hearted.

Seconded. I watched it as a long-distance movie date and it was just perfect.
