-t is me with regard to Lynch. I loved Twin Peaks, and enjoyed Dune and Wild at Heart, but Lost Highway was not my jam, and Eraserhead was so disturbing to me that it may have put me off seeing his other movies. (I keep intending to watch Mulholland Drive, but am never actually in the mood to do so.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Some of you may remember David Ehrenstein from Salon/World Crossing. He was a member of one of my other groups, so I heard that he had passed away earlier this week - [link] Admittedly, he was not one of my favorite people, but part of me mourns the loss of one of the old school Salon folks.

I'd heard the news, and seen it pointed out that no newspapers or other credible news sources had picked up the story as of late this afternoon. Which gives me the mental image of a ouija board angrily venting outrage in all caps at newspaper columnists.

Not to be shady, but is his death news to a credible news organization? Would it be reported?

Maybe not. I understand his partner passed away a couple of years ago, so there might not be anyone with a clear responsibility to contact any of the places that featured his work in the past.

You are always welcome, erikaj!

I love SWN. One of the few noirs that played on TV as a kid. Reading your perspective on it makes me realize it would make a good double feature with KIMI.

Always Anti-fascist!

I'm glad they have done a lot of restorations--makes classics easier to enjoy.
