I went to Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves yesterday. It was fun. Not life changing, but sometimes you just want to see pretty people in fantastical situations.
That was about my reaction - it was maybe a little too long, but overall I had a good time while I was watching it. My son who plays D&D got more out of it than I did, so well done movie on the Easter eggs.
Renfield surprised me in so many ways but I loved it and I'm so glad we watched it
Sadly, DH confirmed for me that the horror elements in Renfield have too much gore for me to enjoy it, which is a shame because the trailer was so appealing!

I enjoyed it but there was a lot of not watching on my part.
Oh yes I watched a lot of Renfield from behind my hands
Too Much Gore is a high bar for me that it fell far short of, but I do wish it had been funnier.

As long as the violence is wildly over the top (think the Kingsman movies), I am oddly fine with it. I just hate realistic violence. I had zero problem with Renfield
ripping off a dude's arms at the shoulder and beating him with
one of them, because that is super over the top.
I'm also starting to think I would watch Nicholas Hoult do just about anything, so that might have been a factor as well.

This is not quite me but I do think a major flaw with the film was
spending too much time with the police storyline
rather than
Renfield and his
issues.
Just saw
Polite Society
today and it has got to be one of the most Buffista-esque movies of all time. It is so fun and stylish and bonkers and trope-y in the best way. It's about a teenage British-Pakistani girl who wants to be a stunt woman, and her sister who's marrying this guy who seems too good to be true. Lots of great fight scenes; I especially loved the ones with everyone in their gorgeous elaborate wedding finery. Highly recommended!
