Ooooh. Sounds like it's imaginary Gene Kelly, which is even better! Holland as Astaire is making me very happy.
Buffista Movies Across the 8th Dimension!
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I love both of those ideas!
Seriously? Physically they have got it completely the wrong way round. They should swap roles.
(It's like when tall Nicole Kidman played short Princess Grace, and short Naomi Watts played tall Princess Diana. They should have swapped too, though I doubt that would have made the films any better).
Gene Kelly had a more muscular, athletic approach to dance. I see Chris Evans portraying that better than Tom Holland. Astaire is more slender, with kind of an upper-class veneer. I could see Tom Holland in that.
Either way I'm looking forward to a movie with both of these men dancing.
I also believe that Gene Kelly had the best butt in mid-century cinema and I will die on that hill. (So Chris Evans is also a good choice for that purpose.)
Very good points, Calli. But I think they are in 2 different movies.
Not in my head they aren't!
But I think they are in 2 different movies.
Awww. I'm also a little surprised that there are two movies about last century's movie dance stars in development featuring Marvel-related actors. Then again, who hasn't been in a Marvel movie at this point.
I feel like the overlap between dance movies and Marvel movies should be high
I don't know that it is, but it should be.
Dancing...Marvel...
Downey and Hemsworth are pretty great in this, but I think Hiddleston and Evans (gotta pay attention if you haven't seen this) are the stars
