"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Saw John Wick 3 last night and it did not disappoint. If you are a fan of the first two, I imagine you will like this one. And I'm sure that a number of Buffistas will appreciate the first thirty minutes in particular.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

So, question for those familiar with the franchise: Would you say "Mewtwo breaks out of containment and trashes the lab he was imprisoned in" is the most cliche'd opening for a Pokemon movie or not?

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I've got a bad feeling about this...

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Trailer for Ari Aster's new film, Midsommar: [link]

That is clearly influenced by the original 70's The Wicker Man, one of my faves. It looks splendidly atmospheric and I love Florence Pugh, who plays the lead. But I still haven't recovered from Aster's first film, Hereditary (so great, so fucking traumatizing OMG)

I usually happily go to movies by myself but might have to recruit a friend to come with. Being a scaredy cat who loves certain brands of horror is a dicey process.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I cannot WAIT for that movie. And yeah, Hereditary was so great and traumatizing. I want to rewatch it (I've been told that there's so much more to find on a rewatch), but I haven't felt brave enough to do it.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Daytime horror is so rare. The Wicker Man and... I think It Follows from a few years back? Can't think of any memorable ones that I've seen other than that. Also, bonus William Jackson Harper as, like, the only black man in all of Sweden! (GET OUT, CHIDI!!)

I think Hereditary is streaming in one of the services I'm subscribing to, but hahahaha no way I am rewatching that. Maybe if I have a bunch of friends over and also got really really drunk. Honestly, that Thing That Happens (you know which, if you've seen the movie) is probably THE most upsetting thing I've seen in movies in several years. I saw the movie in the theater, and after the half way mark, I found myself trying to fold myself into the seat, like, make myself as small as possible, as if that could lessen the emotional trauma. My goodness.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

You are simultaneously making me really want to see Hereditary and really really not want to see it.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Agreeing with -t, here.
