I am mostly invested in Rey. And Finn and Poe. And Leia. And Rose.
Buffista Movies Across the 8th Dimension!
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
And also Lando. And Chewie. And BB-8.
I think it's a stupid title, but I also think ALL the SW movies have stupid titles, so it's on-brand at least.
Fortunately being a Trekkie as a kid protected me from ever getting too into the Star Wars franchise. (I didn't even see the original movie first run, but when it returned to theaters a couple of years later before Empire Strikes Back.)
I have no opinions either way about the new Star Wars title, but am apprehensively looking forward to hearing about the fic that is influenced by it. One of my friends is in the fic side of fandom, and gives me horrified reports.
I was too invested in the original movies to be very impressed with the latest batch.
I would just like more Finn/Poe that does not also involve Kylo/Rey.
My main take-away from the trailer: With their budget, you'd think they'd do a better job matching Rey's face to her neck and chest.
My feelings re SW echo what you all have already said, so I'll just say: Yep.
Finally saw Captain Marvel. The plot held my interest more than most, and it's probably the first in the MCU that made me care about the infinity stones mythology aspect. Some great girl power moments, including one that was very Buffyesque. Fab soundtrack.
And now I'm playing my favorite (not really, but I can't help myself) game whereby I look at the negative reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and see what that reviewer said about other mediocre (but male-centered) Marvel movies.
