Finally saw Spider-verse. I really enjoyed it. Also, as an IT the whole "hacking" scene and it's aftermath was absolutely wonderful.

Also, as much as a lot of things in the Ultimate universe rubbed me the wrong way, I always loved that version of Aunt May, which seemed to inform this one.

I will say I really like the implications that Aunt May in this universe is an accomplished scientist herself. She makes Miles' webshooters, seems very familiar with the various Spider-tech and calls Doc Ock "Liv" which makes me wonder if they were scientific colleagues/friends at one point.

Oh, I'm sure it goes beyond that, given the history of the two characters in 616.

I was aware of that history. I suppose her acid tone could imply a bad breakup.

Some folks at IO9 were throwing out the theory that the reason the Peter Parker in Miles' universe was so successful and had a Spider-cave full of toys was he fessed up to Aunt May early in his career and she took the Lucius Fox role in his super heroing.

My Oscar watch efforts are officially underway. Plan is to watch 3 identical strangers tonight, If Beale St Could Talk and Spider-Verse tomorrow. Roma one evening this week. Then see if any of the foreign language are showing in area on the weekend.

Three Identical Strangers is so good.

The Math Greek was up this weekend and the Indie Spirit screeners are all online now so we were able to watch Shoplifters, Minding the Gap, and Support the Girls, which were all very good in different ways. Shoplifters was exceptional. We usually watch more than that but due to my having to work we weren't able to get to Beale Street or The Tale unfortunately.
