I saw a WONDERFUL movies this weekend-- Hunt for the Wilderpeople. It's charming and unsentimental and quirky in the way that NZ and Australian movies can be. Sam Neill is amazing in it. If it comes near you--go see it. I promise you will not be sorry.
It's by Taika Waititi, who also did
What We Do in the Shadows.
Apparently it had the highest grossing opening weekend in NZ for a New Zealand film. (The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Hobbit aren't classified as NZ films for this purpose.)

Ooh! I'll have to put it on my list!
Yes, I forgot to say that. It's the reason we went in the first place.
Ghostbusters is hella fun & Kate MacKinnon is fabulous. Two thumbs up!
Stay all the way through the credits! There are multiple scenes, plus just awesome silliness during the credits themselves.
We rewatched the original Ghostbusters tonight with a friend who'd never seen it and it's really not that good.
It's kinda sexist/creepy, as I recall.
The new one doesn't make a lot more sense than the original, but it's fun and doesn't piss me off, and some of the set pieces are truly great.
It's probably been at least 15 years since I last watched it, but I doubt a week goes by without someone I know (or myself) quoting the original Ghostbusters. Of course, I work in IT, so the geek-quotient is high.
