Yeah, I could do that, but I'm paralyzed with not caring very much.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

I know we are supposed to look at Rotten Tomatoes scores with a jaundiced eye, but Lady Bird is still at 100% with 144 reviews in place. I can't remember if that's ever happened before: [link]

Usually, I would be expecting a backlash by now, but the film is such a loose-limbed charmer, I can't imagine anyone really hating it.

Lady Bird is SO GREAT y'all. I think it's opening semi-widely this week, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Saoirse Ronan is incredible, but so is every single supporting character around her. It will make you happy and sad and nostalgic and full of emotions and also make you want to call your mother immediately.

Yes to all this. (Well, except the mother part.) I had to check my watch at the end because I was sure the movie was longer than 90 minutes. It wasn't, but the various characters were such well-rounded portrayals the movie seemed very "full" if that makes sense. A very charming and understated coming-of-age tale.

On another random note, I'm glad we are all down with acknowledging that women masturbate, but I think I've exhausted my movie representations quota for that this year.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Not gonna lie, totally looking forward to that fictitious generic movie now.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I saw the trailer for A Wrinkle in Time ... it looks pretty amazing. I never got through the book, but this might send me back to it.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Joss Whedon was fired from the Batgirl movie, which is fantastic news: [link]

brillig

The shouts of glee have to be demoralizing for Mr. Whedon, though.

Poor Barbara Gordon, looks like she'll still have to fight barefoot in Gotham City alleys and warehouses.
