I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I don't think I've flown anyone but Jet Blue or Alaska in a long time. Iceland Air, which was nice, but I would need a major lifestyle change to be flying them regularly.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I got two spontaneous upgrades to better classes when I flew Virgin Atlantic, so they're my choice when/if I ever fly again....

4:15AM? I really hope you were in Central or Eastern time, Drew, and not board time! That is ungodly early to be at the airport.

I am officially sick. Sore throat yesterday and then once I got home started feeling all achy and went to bed at 8:30PM and didn't get up until morning.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

That sounds amazing.

To clarify, *seats* that turn into lie-flat beds. Most American carriers are re-doing their business class interiors to install these seats. So much better than the old 160 degree recliners.

But if you fly a 747 on Lufthansa in international first, you get a seat AND a bed. Sadly, I have not experienced this yet myself. Some of the Middle Eastern airlines have first class apartments. It's ridiculous.

Yay fridge!

Zen, it's the opposite for me. Delta has always done right, even when I didn't have status. USAirways (now part of American)has lost bags and left me to fend for myself during flight delays.

meara, I think Drew was in MSP for work. Ugh, sick. I hope you feel better soon.

Woohoo, we won funniest scarecrow! We made ours look like the department head, and we weren't sure how she'd take it, so that's a relief (she was one of the judges).

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yay, fridge!

I just made it to Trader Joe's for the first time since ltc was born and bought all the things. They had pumpkin spice cookie butter, which I didn't buy but seemed like a thing buffistas should know about.

Punishingly Intricate

We only fly Southwest domestically (or to the Caribbean now!) due to points having and I love that they don't have class distinctions.

On British Air, in Economy, this summer it felt like they were serving food/drinks the whole time. It was nice because it kept you occupied. I'm excited to check out IcelandAir in December!!!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think Iceland Air felt more like regular domestic -- I don't remember if they even served a meal! (On a mid-length flight not at meal time...)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

In travel news, I just dreamed up a scenario for myself where I get to fly Qatar Airlines (it's the cheapest!), but I don't think I'm actually going to get to go on that trip. Alas!

I don't think we got a meal on the short flight on Iceland Air. IIRC it's like 3 hours or shorter, no meal; longer than that you can buy a meal. I think I was able to buy chocolate on any flight, though? I liked that chocolate. And the USB at the seat for charging one's phone was very nice. Not to mention being able to book tours, etc. while in the air.
