I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The fridge will be delivered between 11 and 1. I repeat, we have incoming fridge.

I flew international first class. It was non-stop food.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Go for the routes/planes that have lie-flat beds.

That sounds amazing.

Hooray fridge!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm not sure non-stop food is that great a prospect when one has airplane bathrooms to use, even if First Class gets its own.

Jackson woke me up at 3:30 attacking my feet and drawing blood; apparently I moved them in the night, and he didn't make the connection that they were attached to me. (He's gotten very good about keeping his claws retracted when I wag a finger for him to bat at or pet his belly.) He is now at the vet for his follow-up visit and shots, and I wonder if he'll associate the two.

Because books.

Non sequitur: Harriet Klausner died. [link]

I saw that the other day. It's sort of sad, really.

I've never flown first class, but I remember when I was about 12 (so ... 1979?) flying by myself to visit friends after we moved. It was an evening flight, and there was no one on it. I had a whole row to myself, and the flight attendant showed me how to put the armrests up so I could stretch out. She also brought me a Shirley Temple. That was probably my most luxurious flight ever.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I've had pretty good luck with American; it's the airline I end up flying most often, probably because of where I live. Delta is the airline that once cancelled my flight home and stranded me in Charlotte NC, leaving it up to me and 400 other passengers to book another flight ourselves.

I don't think I've flown anyone but Jet Blue or Alaska in a long time. Iceland Air, which was nice, but I would need a major lifestyle change to be flying them regularly.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I got two spontaneous upgrades to better classes when I flew Virgin Atlantic, so they're my choice when/if I ever fly again....

4:15AM? I really hope you were in Central or Eastern time, Drew, and not board time! That is ungodly early to be at the airport.

I am officially sick. Sore throat yesterday and then once I got home started feeling all achy and went to bed at 8:30PM and didn't get up until morning.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

That sounds amazing.

To clarify, *seats* that turn into lie-flat beds. Most American carriers are re-doing their business class interiors to install these seats. So much better than the old 160 degree recliners.

But if you fly a 747 on Lufthansa in international first, you get a seat AND a bed. Sadly, I have not experienced this yet myself. Some of the Middle Eastern airlines have first class apartments. It's ridiculous.

Yay fridge!

Zen, it's the opposite for me. Delta has always done right, even when I didn't have status. USAirways (now part of American)has lost bags and left me to fend for myself during flight delays.

meara, I think Drew was in MSP for work. Ugh, sick. I hope you feel better soon.

Woohoo, we won funniest scarecrow! We made ours look like the department head, and we weren't sure how she'd take it, so that's a relief (she was one of the judges).
