this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

So what is everyone doing this weekend? I am working so I need to live vicariously through you.

Sorry; I'm working, too. Although I'd like to go see that Vin Diesel witch hunter movie. It looks like unapologetically cheesy fun.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Also working, and sleeping in.

Also working. And wrangling Halloween costumes. And dying Casper's hair purple.

Tonight, I'm treating myself to dinner out at the fine dining place down the street—they have oysters Bienville and Rockefeller this weekend!

Tomorrow I'm going to the final farmers' market in my area, working on my Halloween costume, and finally sitting down to watch the Man with the Iron Fists DVD I've had on loan from the library all week.

Sunday I'm taking care of my dad while Mom goes to her great-grand-nephew's birthday party in Tennessee.

I went into the Skechers factory store to pick up some new sneakers, as my current ones are serviceable but should probably be phased out. My god, these things are comfy--but I'm only going to pay factory store prices for them, good gosh. And they have summer type shoes, too. As I told the cashier, "I've been buying Crocs. I should have been buying Skechers." She nodded emphatically.

So what is everyone doing this weekend?

I want to go to Target to see if they have any Avengers pajama pants and also get some of the already-framed art up on my apartment walls. If I'm feeling ambitious, I'll go out and get some frames for the art sitting on my living room floor. Farmer's market on Sunday. Other than that, TV and sleep.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yay, Maria!

I have an Alzheimer's walk tomorrow morning, and then a baby shower, and Sunday the Chardonnay Run. Absolutely have to do laundry somewhere in there, and gather up the stuff I need for the office scarecrow contest. And figure out my Halloween Week clothes. I may have overbooked.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

YAYAYAYAY Maria!!! That is a huge relief. And seriously, now you can take a breath and think about what's next.

The Chairman of the Board called me himself with the news.

FRANK???

My weekend plans are minimal and the usual -- cooking, laundry, dad. Maybe going to design my new front yard? Maybe Target?

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Weekend plans: partying with Buffistas! Liese is in town, so a small gathering is happening tomorrow, which is also my birthday. M says Rose wants to make me a pumpkin pie, and who am I to crush a young child's dreams?

Otherwise, a massive amount of laundry, pretty much. And I need to actually decide on what to do about Rose's Halloween costume. (She has told us at various times that she wants to be a ghost, a flamingo, and a "mummy monkey." At least one of them is pretty easy?)

And YAY Maria! What a relief. I'm so happy for you.
