I dunno, my 25th birthday triple feature was Three Kings, Welcome to Sarejevo and Year of Living Dangerously.
And goddamn, 15 years ago.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Maybe not the best choices for a double feature.
Surely there must be something cheerier.
Such is the tyranny of Netflix.
Oh dear. I forgot that 4th of July means that for days and days I will be startled awake in the middle of the night by loud explosions. Last night I woke up thinking people were shooting or some shit, until I saw flashes of red in the window. Just heard some more, too. BOO.
Also, I just spent like, two hours watching Buzzfeed videos of people of various nationalities trying the snack foods and desserts of other nationalities. So addictive.
Fanfic question, Harry Potter edition: a parent would like a site/resource that will allow her 11 year old to read the HP fanfic she is obsessed with, without straying into (much) adult content. Are there HP fanfic that's for children sites? (This is not me and my 11 y o. Also, I know some of you were writing porn at 13, but either this 11 y o is not there yet or she's hiding it well from her mother.) (Actually remind me to tell you about mr. flea's coworker's 13 y o son who wrote RPF porn about people at his school and posted it in a public internet forum where it was found by people at his school.)
OMG, it is pouring like crazy, and for some reason I thought I didn't need to wear a raincoat? So my shirt is wet, in addition to my feet and legs. Good times.
flea, these are both listed as "canon-compliant", which at least cuts down on a lot of the more adult stuff.
Fanfiction.net, last I checked, does not allow NC-17 stories, but I don't know how thoroughly they check what gets uploaded.
Oh no! Am weirdly sad that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are getting a divorce. [link]
FFN is not strictly controlled: given some of what I've read there, I wouldn't recommend letting an unaccompanied pre-teen wander freely.
Yeah, I'm not surprised.
AO3 has robust search, but not any kind of parental controls.
I really thought HP had a general audiences archive, but I can't find it.
