Yikes -- good thoughts to G! Let's hope it's gall bladder or something else fixable.
Really? How weird. Common for women also or just men?
I don't actually know, but I would guess less common for women to fall on the floor just because they are sitting down when they pee. It's something about your blood pressure drops a little when you're peeing, and also standing up too fast from being asleep and probably other factors I dunno. Oh! Wikipedia to the rescue: [link]
Timelies all!
Health~ma to Sox's DH and to msbelle's brother.
We did have a nanny. Which taxes? State, federal, unemployment, worker's comp? As both an attorney who worked in estates and trusts, and a librarian, I got fed up and hired an accountant. Maryland was the problem. He would charge me $75/quarter, and take care of it all. Considering the hours it gave me back with my girl, well worth it.
Check your local parents' listserv for suggestions. Someone will be doing nanny taxes locally, and they can advise you on things like paying for the nanny's health insurance which doesn't count as income for her and is deductible for you.
I'm happy to try to help more specifically!
I hope G's pain gets sorted out fast.
Felt like more hammered crap as the day progressed. Either I'm getting sick, allergic to fall (I kinda am. I think it is the leaf molds) or just that point in hormones. Or all three.
And the boiler inspection/maintenance window available tomorrow is pretty much the worst time ever, but it's getting done.
nanny's health insurance which doesn't count as income for her and is deductible for you.
Oh, really? It doesn't count as income? Oh, but it is probably considered part of compensation. Whenever I have reviews, my Compensation/Salary stuff has the health insurance factored in, but my taxes are figured off what shows up on the W2. I always wondered who benefits from that setup.
Homeowners, that is another insurance to which I can speak re nannies.
Either I'm getting a cold or my Fall allergies have taken a turn for the more allergic today. Thinking about layering some benedryl in with my usual Claritin-D.
Hope everything is okay with your husband, Sox! That is scary.
My brother - appendicitis - getting admitted and surgery tomorrow. I don't wike it.
I mean commonplace and fixable but my brother can't have stuff.
Lisah, hmm....
msbelle, tell him he has to ask for superhero band aids. And I'm glad they found a solution.
