nanny's health insurance which doesn't count as income for her and is deductible for you.

Oh, really? It doesn't count as income? Oh, but it is probably considered part of compensation. Whenever I have reviews, my Compensation/Salary stuff has the health insurance factored in, but my taxes are figured off what shows up on the W2. I always wondered who benefits from that setup.

Punishingly Intricate

Either I'm getting a cold or my Fall allergies have taken a turn for the more allergic today. Thinking about layering some benedryl in with my usual Claritin-D.

Hope everything is okay with your husband, Sox! That is scary.

My brother - appendicitis - getting admitted and surgery tomorrow. I don't wike it.

I mean commonplace and fixable but my brother can't have stuff.

Lisah, hmm....

msbelle, tell him he has to ask for superhero band aids. And I'm glad they found a solution.

Sparky, maybe you also know things like: who do I talk to to figure out how much insurance I need? I mean, the insurance agent would just say "more" right? I don't want to pay for more than I need but I also don't want to be in a car accident or have someone fall down my stairs and sue me and end up with no savings or retirement anymore! And I don't know who figures out those things--financial advisor? Insurance agent? Lawyer?

near a, if you have an insurance broker you trust, that person can help. My financial advisor also had opinions, esp when K was born and life insurance became so important. Let me check if my insurance person is licensed in Washington. He might send me his formula, if not, and you can compare it to other opinions.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

msbelle, it's better that they take it now before it goes kaplooey. They can probably take it laparoscopically, which will be easy and have a short recovery time.

Good thoughts for him.
