all pudding, jello and protein shakes.
There's been quite a few protein shakes too, and more to come I'm sure. And Indian food last night. But hey, veggie soup has veggies and lots of calories thanks to the cream in it, so if she'll eat it, I'll make it.
I just showered and washed my hair. It was officially a production to wash it, like 20 minutes just on the hair alone. I'm getting a cut and color on Tuesday, and while I'm not going to cut it short, I am looking forward to losing a few inches.
I got up at 5:30. Pumpkin flat out refused to get out of bed until 8:30. Not even for food. She cracks me up. I've never before had a cat who hates waking up as much as me!
Ugh, stupid public transit. My subway was a few minutes behind, so I got to the bus stop right at the time my preferred bus is supposed to leave. It had clearly already left. And the next bus, rather than coming in 10 minutes like it's supposed to, was apparently not coming for a half-hour! So I walked, which is fine and good for me, but not quite how I planned to start my day. Now I have to make sure I'm ready for my 9am presentation.
Good luck, Jesse!
I'm with Pumpkin this morning, getting up is not an attractive option. Pixie often stays on my bed when I get up, it's part of her princess persona, although she'll also yowl at me to get up some mornings. Today she is curled up on the love seat in the living room. Sleeping.
Reheated the leftover eggs in the microwave for a minute and they turned yellow like I expect scrambled eggs to be, so I don't think they were actually cooked yesterday. I'll have to try the recipe on the induction cooktop, but I don't think I have an induction-suitable 10" skillet. Hm.
And now she's asleep on my legs, which I appreciate because it's chilly. Of course, Loki wants to be on my lap too, in front of the laptop. Which is not conducive to working on it.
I, on the other hand, have somehow acquired a two-man wake up committee who are convinced that the first signs of stirring mean that [dog] walking and [cat] feeding time is imminent.
So they stand in the doorway side by side trying to explain it to me. For however long it takes. And no amount of lectures on "daylight" and "coffee" seem to get through.
Loki is a total asshole in the morning. Burrowing, claws, nipping.
Squeaky just jumps on my neck when it's morning and she wants food. She also uses my neck as a jumping-off point to get to and from the window sill.
Oh yeah! I had forgotten how Hazel used to be an asshole before my alarm went off in the morning. I guess now I get up before she does.
Walter would probably wake me up if he knew how, but his strategy is to stare at me silently, Which I guess, from his perspective, eventually works, because I do get up. If I really sleep in Jadzia will eventually pester me to get up and open her window, but even that is mostly that insistent purr and kind of sweet.
Gah, this day/week is not off to a great start. I have a lot of Fail going on. But someone put cake in the kitchen, so I think I will have a slice of that.
