I think the eggs took so long because my electric burners are ancient and have built up corrosion at the connections and therefore resistance and medium low is practically off, but medium is too hot (I tried turning it up a little and got some scorching). Not being good at standing on a step stool, etc. , sounds like a good reason to go to a system that doesn't require you to do that. But short-term, having someone else do it would work.

I feel pretty good about my progress pulling thistles and Bermuda grass, but I'm not having much luck with the salsify. I think I'm just gonna mow it all down and see what comes up in the spring.

I need to make another pot of fennel-carrot soup for Frances so she has something to bring to school for her lunches. She's a bit of a picky eater anyway, and she can only eat soft foods for the next few days. We've been kind of cheating by pretending that crepes and ramen noodles qualify as soft foods, but neither one works for her school lunches.
