Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh my goodness, I just slept for more than an hour! I never nap. Now I really don't feel like going to the store, but I can definitely get started on roasting squash and stuff tonight.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm a little tempted to take a nap, on the theory that it would reset the day and I would awaken all refreshed and rarin' to go. I don't think it would really work like that, though. I never wake up rarin' to go. And I'm not even sleepy, just kind of drained. I just need to pick one of the many things that need doing and do it.

Unrelatedly, I find the "you are watching NFL Sunday Ticket" guy strangely validating. "Yes, I am," I answer, and feel like I'm doing something right.

Ok, emptying the dishwasher, how hard can that be?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I dusted! This should probably be a less rare accomplishment for me, and yet.

Now I'm watching last week's Sleepy Hollow while eating broiled salmon and veggie rice pilaf. I'm still working out the recipe for the latter. But the salmon was awesome. I've come to terms with the fact that I like well done salmon, even though it's apparently not culinarily cool. I had seconds.

I also like well done salmon. Nom.

I have a few things that need doing in progress. I think it's time for a break.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Block party last night was great fun. Today we finished signing all the papers for our refinance of the mortgage. $200.00 less per month!

Jason is packing--he's off for a whole week of travel tomorrow morning. I do have a hot date while he's away--going to the NTLive showing of Cumberwoobie's Hamlet.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I had bucatini carbonara and a caprese salad with burrata. We took Mom out, but stepdad chose to stay home and watch football instead. We also went to a very popular arts and crafts fair. We didn't get there early enough and had to park very far away. I'm hurting tonight as a result.

Yay for more money in your pocket, Scrappy! And Hamlet! Sorry about the pain, sj.

I have a fuckload of TV to watch this week. Some of these shows will have to go. But which? Decisions decisions.

Business apparel query: black pleather knee-length skirt with animal print (I want to say leopard but I'm not certain) short-sleeved blouse, too much? OK with the right shoes? What are the right shoes?

Achieved 10 minute cone free before the Pumpk started washing her butt! Which is good because I needed to wash the cone after she drank out of the toilet and then used the litterbox. Uhg.

She's definitely more adept at it; less kerthunking up the stairs. She's even mastered a jaunty little head swinging trot I haven't seen before. She does whack me & things with it on purpose....she's really got it in for her bottle of pills. Broke my dish soap holder.
