That's aweosme, Zen! Seems so rare something would cost LESS than expected.
I have a ton of work to do today, in part because I just do but in part because our stupid system went down again and I haven't been able to do any real work since Wednesday afternoon. They're supposed to fix it for me later today. In the meantime I have SIX meetings today. So I'm not sure when I will get all this "urgent" stuff done...also I have to leave again on Sunday. I am seriously hitting camel-last-straw territory here. Grr.
Ooh, that sounds great. Even though I don't know what mi cuit is. (I mean, I do now because google.)
Ha! I have now also googled. At first I thought that it was some sort of autocorrect fail :)
Apparently, my catsitters let Hazel out on the screened-in back porch, which makes me very nervous, because the screens are crappy! So I'm afraid she would get out, which I do not want, even though I love the idea of letting her go half-outside. Anyway, I wonder how much that would cost to fix. Probably not $80.
One of my coworkers clued me in on a job opening at my org that should hit right around the time my probationary period's up. It would be a 50% raise and put me back were I was, income-wise, before the layoff. It's nice that he thinks I should try for what's effectively a promotion, 3-months in. I'm not as sure. On the other hand, could trying hurt?
If possible, see if you can float the idea before actually applying? I can see my boss (e.g.) being put off by someone looking for a promotion right off the bat, but not if she knew they were hired under their ability.
You know, I would really enjoy a food blog by -t. IJS.
Yes, that would be awesome.

Yes, perfect!
Also: athleta has magic mirrors that make you look thin. I bought these pants and am wearing them for the first time today and at home I I not look in the mirror and go "wow!" (They're fine but not wow). Boo, tricksy athleta!
Food blog, eh? Hm, maybe I can do that.
That salmon-dill cheesecake sounds delicious, although I'd be up for just nomming the salmon and the avocado and calling it a day. YUM!
And yes to the -t food blog! You take such glee in good food.
Happy birthday Sox! And happy belated birthday sarameg!
I am hoping today will be mostly productive and I'll be too busy to be online much, but we'll see how it goes. Summer is it's own creature in our house.

You could get a quote from a local handyman for putting in pet-safe screens. Just make sure he can replace the screens without having to totally replace the frames; that's what lost me my original sturdy sliding patio door to an incompetent handyman.
I've spent too much time campaigning to raise the minimum wage to feel good about paying someone $15 for three hours' work including a couple trips to Lowes.
In other theatregoing moron news, at yesterday's evening show of Shows for Days Patti Lupone had her fill of phone interruptions and snatched an audience member's phone during her exit: [link]
Oh, wow, Zen, that is low. How do renegotiate though? "You did a great job, I don't think you charged me enough"? Call it a tip?
