We had the first lovely day here in weeks. So after work I dragged a couple of friends out for dinner somewhere with outdoor seating. It was delightful.

I discovered that the defrosted container I thought was full of chicken in tomato sauce was actually full of turkey taco filling after I had started heating up my noodles, so I zigged into trying Hec's crack!corn recipe over noodles. I used sweet paprika instead of smoked, because that's what I have, but compensated with a few drops of liquid smoke, because I also have that. Not bad. Could probably use more cheese, but what couldn't?

More cheese is better.
My reward for getting through today will be tacos
Food truck caravan is on Thursday, btw. And you can get not only Filipino tacos (extra spicy) but Chairman Bao's porkbelly bao.
Well, I was going to make tacos at home, but I think I need to know more about this food truck situation.
That's dangerous knowledge you seek, shrift.
Oo that reminds me, there's a truck bymyoffice that sells Beijing duck tacos/fries, pork belly tacos/fries, and other such delicacies. And poor me conferencing with students all day and nothing to pack for lunch!
The taco place in my neighborhood that had a duck taco (along with a mashed potato taco, a Korean beef taco, and Taco O'the Moment such as the Thanksgiving taco or the brisket and mac&cheese taco) abruptly closed 2 months ago. I am still in mourning.
Of course, being my neighborhood, it still has 2 taco places left. Trufax.
but I think I need to know more about this food truck situation.
Looks like Chairman Bao, Creme Brulee cart and Bacon Bacon will all be there.

Mm, those all sound delicious. I had mcdonalds for dinner because I was hungry and in rural Kansas. Sigh.
Dang it, now I'm hungry and have no duck tacos.
