I, for one, wasn't looking forward to starting my day with a slaughter. Which, really, just goes to show how much I've grown

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Pretty much the only useful things I have done since Wednesday night are unpack, deal with bills, go grocery shopping, and put out my Halloween decorations. I even failed to see the Martian, though I am somewhat caught up on the DVR contents.

Work is going to hurt tomorrow.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Do you remember what you put in it, David? Can you recreate the crack?

I do. I'm afraid of unleashing it on the world. It'll be like the Joke that Kills in Monty Python.

Then again, my crack might not be the world's crack. So...

Stayed with my usual go-to of Smoked Paprika (TJ's - you need a good one that actually has the smoky quality) and freshly grated Parmesan. Salt too and a little butter. Then cayenne, and one swirly of Sriracha on top. In the big bowl you can mix with salad fork and spoon, but in a the big soup bowl it's one big spoon and half a hand over the top of the bowl.

So, smoky cheesy mouth tingly spiciness. I'd say I was careful with the cayenne and Sriracha, and reckless with the Parm.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I took my mom out to see The Intern this afternoon, which was exactly the sort of movie she likes with the bonus of getting her out of the house to do something fun and take her mind off her recent medical troubles. That and buying soda was about all I managed to accomplish today, though.

I'm with you until the sriracha. Which I like, but don't think I want on popcorn.

Aww, that's nice Matt!

I didn't really accomplish much (a load of laundry, but my room is still a mess) but I had a good time--Martian with friends, a long walk with another friend, and then dancing for several hours. So that's at least happy, even if I'd still really like another day in the weekend!

brillig

Soy sauce on popcorn is good. Salty and a bit of a kick. Freaked out my roommates in college when I ate it like that. But roommates seemed to be easily freaked out--great horror when I was highlighting my textbook with a green marker instead of yellow.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm feeling guilt and shame, because. So I'm not there yet.

Ah well, then you're stuck like me. But hey, still better off since you took the day off anyway.

I think that popcorn sounds yummy, only we are avoiding popcorn in our house these days thanks to our clever plan of having two kids in braces at once. But I'm pretty sure the same toppings will work on pan roasted potatoes too.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So my boss is thinking of cancelling the lease for our office and just having both of us work from home. This would save me from two hours of commuting each day, so I say, "Yay!"

If we end up going that route, it would happen in February.

Huge YAY, tommyrot. Cutting out that commute would be fantastic.

Yes, especially during February (I get tired of the cold by then).

Being able to work from home makes me feel like I'm living in the aughts.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

My legs are seriously sore, but being outside and walking so much was really nice, so I am going to really try to motivate for walking either at lunch or once I get home.
