Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay, Jilli!

I have a wedding to go to tomorrow morning, and I just don't feeeel like it. I want to sleep in and laze around! I like the couple, and I'm sure it will be fun, but still.

I've pretty much decided I'm going to change my February trip from Venice Beach for two nights to three nights in Vegas again. As much as I want to see the ocean, contemplating that particular trip has been causing anxiety instead of glee. Yes, Vegas is a tourist trap, but that means there are safety nets for baffled tourists. They make it easy for tourists to have a troublefree visit. I don't think I'm ready for a solo trip with so many points of potential fubar as the trip to LA would have--an outgoing trip with a potentially tight plane transfer, making way through a massive airport I've never been in, making my way across a massive city I was last in nearly 20 years ago, then only have one day before doing it all in reverse. In Vegas, I'm a coddled commodity; in LA, I'm just another person, an obvious out-of-towner. Plus, for the same amount of money, I get another day to sit by a pool and read. I've been longing for poolside sitting.

Maybe in another year I'll be able to dump the safety net.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

We moved an over-one-ton rock today in the rain. Woot!

ION, broached the subject of thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant with dad and he noted that mom didn't like meals out on holidays. I never knew that. So that looks like a no-go.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Rain. All weekend long. On the one hand, I didn't have anything planned, aside from getting food. On the other hand, potential for cabin fever is great.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Another day of vacationing is a huge inducement. You are not under any obligation to push the envelope of your comfort zone, vacations are for you to enjoy, not prove you can handle.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: working five days in a row is for the birds. Where's my socialist paradise of moochers, Obama?

Of course, now that I am home I have approximately 8 zillion things I should be doing and zero desire to do any of them. Watching TV may even be too much trouble, but I'm gonna give it a try.

Jilli, your Kickstarter project looks terrific!

I called Travelocity, they got my airfare converted into a credit, but they weren't able to contact the hotel, because the hotel doesn't answer their phone after 4 PM Pacific time. Um, what? You're a hospitality business. Your check-in time is at 4 PM. But not to worry, according to the website there's an automated check-in setup for after 4. Is there no one manning a desk? It seems a bit lackadaisical, but perhaps that's what should be expected for a small hotel on Venice Beach. Perhaps they're on the beach.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I just bought a floppy hat for the cruise. I have visions of me, sitting on my balcony, reading fanfic on my Kindle, wearing a floppy hat and watching dolphins cavort.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Not answering phones after 4PM would be a big red flag for me in a hotel—you may have dodged a bullet, Connie.

That is an excellent vision, Dana.
